INFOTECH – WE CHANGE THE FACE OF POLISH EDUCATION: Today, 30 million new devices are connected to the Web every week. By 2025, one million new devices will already be connecting to the Internet every hour. It is estimated that the digital economy of Industry 4.0 (based on IoT) will be worth $19 billion, generating demand for 4.5 million specialists.
What is changing our future, including the future of the job market, are technologies related to artificial intelligence.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a way of solving complex problems by creating models of intelligent behavior supported by a system of interconnected devices using artificial intelligence.
What jobs related to IoT development will be popular in the near future? What skills do you need to have to find your way in a work environment made up of billions of connected devices and terabytes of data?
INFOTECH Programming Technical School has been participating in a three-year, nationally innovative project since March 2022. The result of this activity is the creation of a new, groundbreaking specialty – Internet of Things Technician. The project „Vocational Training – B2E (business to edu model)” has been subsidized by The Velux Foundations of Denmark to the tune of more than 500,000 euros.
The milestone of our project is the establishment in September 2023 of the first technician class in Poland with a specialization in programmer technician with a specialization in Internet of Things #IoT programmer.
Poland’s first cluster Technical School works closely with IT companies in the Podlaskie region, creating space for innovative technological solutions.
By implementing our project, we initiate social and technological processes at the local level, which will enable the flow of knowledge and skills between business and education (B2E). We regularly organize conferences and technology meetups, popularize knowledge about the INTERNET OF THINGS (IoT – Internet of Things) and educate specialists, trainers and students who will be the first in Poland to design, implement and supervise smart solutions in any sector of the economy.
Already in the current school year, our students and teachers have established an IoT club, where they have been preparing to serve as Internet of Things mentors for the first classes of the specialty: IoT programmer in the next school year. To date, our club has completed 3 projects implementing smart solutions: Smart Classroom, AquaSense and Fire.
Our project is supported by: Polish Construction Cluster, Metalworking Cluster, Podlaska Chamber of Agriculture and AquaRD companies and many other partners. The project is open so we also invite other organizations and entrepreneurs to cooperate. The synergy of knowledge and experience will allow us to respond to the challenges of the Industry 4.0 labor market, and will put both business and education on the path of real, profitable cooperation.
